Monday is going to be our 3 week mark in the project. Right now we have holes 5-10 completely sodded and hole #13 about half way complete. We have shaped the changes to the fairway on #17, and rough shaped the tees on hole #11. By the end of next week we hope to have fairways 1-3 and 16-18 ready for sod, and holes 13, 18 & 1 completely sodded. We will also start with the collars and green expansions this week, as well as demolition of the 12th green complex. We have already rolled and put the first cut on fairways 8 & 9, and will be mowing some of the other fairways by the end of next week.
We have had many, many questions about how we plan to address the roughs on the North. At this point our plan is to also establish 100% Bermuda in the roughs during construction. The first part of this process is spraying out all of the other grasses except for the Bermuda, and then using various techniques to fill in any areas that don't have a good base of Bermuda. In some areas we are sodding, and in others we are sprigging Bermuda. There will also be some areas that will continue to always be ryegrass due to the shade (Bermuda will not grow in shady areas).
Here are some pictures from the last week, and I promise to get back on schedule on updates.

Making the landing area more receptive to tee shots on #17 fairway. |
Rolling the new sod prior to the first mowing. Now we start the process of getting the sod as smooth and level as possible. |
