Rain Updates!

Over the past week, we got to see temperatures hit 98 degrees on Thursday and Friday followed by a 25+ degree drop over the weekend and finally a half inch of rain in the past 48 hours.  That's not exactly our most normal weather pattern for May!  However, the rain is desperately needed.  Our rainfall this season was less than 6" which is about 40% of normal.  We also had about 40% of normal rainfall last year as well, and the current snow packs are only about 17% of normal.  What all of this means to our members is that water is going to be a precious resource in the next 12 months if there isn't more rain.

We are fertilizing both golf courses this week to get them green and growing.  In addition to the fertilizing, we will be lightly topdressing the North greens to help maintain green speeds and keep them smooth.  Normally, this would have been done on Monday, but with the rain yesterday our crew couldn't do it.  We'll have to wait until the weather passes by and the sun comes out.

We also have been notified that another piece of equipment is being delivered on Thursday.  A new Toro fairway mower is coming in to supplement our current fleet and help us get fairways mowed more quickly in the morning.  We also received a new rough mower last week and together these two pieces of equipment are about a $140,000 investment by ClubCorp into the property.
