As of this morning, we have received about a half inch of rain. We have both courses and the range open at this point, and we will continue to monitor the coming rain. With any more significant rain, the South creeks will raise and we will have to close the South Course. Call the golf shop for the latest updates. Both courses are cart paths only.
The rain is desperately needed on the golf course. This season (the rain season is July-June) we are only at 4.25" of rain. Our normal annual rainfall is between 14-16 inches and most of it comes in January and February. Annual rain is the key to flushing the soils and releasing nutrients to the grass. Last year we only finished with about 9 inches of rain so a second year of low rainfall is terrible for the golf course and water restrictions are already again a topic of conversation with all of the water districts.
So..... Let's embrace the little rain we are getting!
