Overseeding in Full Swing

What a week it has already been for our golf course maintenance team! Although we only closed three days ago, our team has been hard at work to improve the North Course and prepare the South Course for seeding.
In just the past three days we have put 50,000 pounds of perennial ryegrass seed, 400 tons of a sand/mulch mixture over the seed, 8 tons of starter fertilizer and 100 tons of silica sand on the aerified greens! We have also trimmed and raised up all trees on the North Course, started construction on the bridge surface and replaced all missing yardage tags. By the time we re-open the golf course on October 10th, the new seed should be getting mowed and the details of the course should be looking really good.
Although the South Course is extremely crowded with golfers, we also have to start lowering the roughs on the course to have it ready for overseeding on October 17th. We are trying to stay out of the way of the golfers as much as possible, but please be patient with us as we are on a tight schedule to prepare that course for overseed as well.
Thank you for all of your help and support and we look forward to a great winter of course conditions.
