Fairways
Over the next month the fairways on the North Course will be lowering slightly every two weeks until the necessary height is reached.  This will help even the current playing surface.  In order for the fairways to withstand cart traffic during the dormancy period the height of cut needs to be at ¾".  Now that the fairways are starting to actively grow we have the ability to start lowering the heights. This is a slow process due to the risks of scalping.  We will be able to achieve our desired heights by the middle of May.

Landscaping
Landscaping is another item that the Maintenance Team will be working on over the next two months. In order to address the landscaping aesthetics this project will involve complete removal of current plant material and replacement with new plant varieties. This project started on 4 North and will continue throughout both courses.

Vegetation Removal
Currently, the Maintenance Team is clearing out vegetation underneath the oaks to help playability and to improve the aesthetics in between 7 and 10 North.  This project will be completed by the end of April.

North Collars
We are currently addressing the North Course collars by scalping them and beginning a program using daubers to help remove the cool season grasses that have germinated over the course of the winter season. I have been hesitant to do anything until now due to concerns of thinning the Bermuda grass, more than what has already taken place. Moving forward, in the coming months Bermuda grass will begin to thrive and the current issue that you are seeing will go away. Due to the timing that Bermuda was sodded this year we were unable to do certain agronomic practices to keep the cool season grasses out. Going into the fall season of this year, we will have a better opportunity to manage the cool season grasses due to the fact that the Bermuda grass will have had the opportunity to mature.
